At a job upgrading two perfectly good working TSU9200s because customer adding Apple TVs to both TVs.
I have not used the Pronto Configurator in about 8 mos. and thought that last time I used it, for a service call. I got it too run on Windows 8. Unfortunately, I hit 55 yrs old and my memory is not what it used to be. Tried to run it recently on the Win8 laptop and found it corrupt and thus uninstalled it off the laptop. Today I tried to download the Pronto Configurator software from remote central and it won't run using an existing (customer) file nor creating a new file. Program opens but can't get past 1st page.
Any one had any luck with this TSU9200 configurator on Windows8 running in XP compatibility mode and/or as an administrator? Wish I could remember how if I got it working last time on Win 8 or if I barrowed a Windows 7 computer.
It sucks to get older!
By the way, tried installing a XP operating system on the same lap top with in a shell. Had a certified computer tech help me. What a disaster! All the browsers [5 different ones] we tried to install kept crashing and the lap top caught a virus with in 24 hours. Thus not able to download any of these old XP compatible IR remote programs to run on an XP OS.

You have 2 options.
1. Buy an old school XP laptop. Take good care of it so you have it when you need it. Much easier than fiddling with legacy software in current OS. MUCH easier.
2. Sell everyone with legacy equipment (that would require option 1) new equipment.

Back at that same job with the wife's Windows7 laptop. I treated her well last week & was finally allowed to barrow it. LOL!
I downloaded the Pronto Configurator from Remote Central onto her laptop but still having issues. At 1st opening of the program I had the message = "Pronto Dashboard has stopped working" & initial page of Configurator would not display. So I changed compatibility settings of "Pronto Dashboard"' "Manage My Database", and "Pronto Wizard" to XP service pack 3 to resolve the dashboard loading error. Although Configurator now opens, you can't get past initial page nor open an existing project. All the program will allow you to do is save a new project name which is what is done when you start the Configuration.
Went back and changed settings for these 3 items to "run as an administrator" for all users but still no success.
I see others discussing download and driver issues but can't even get to that point.
IN SUMMARY: TAKE Audiophiliac's ADVISE = SELL EVERY ONE NEW EQUIPMENT BECAUSE THESE REMOTES ARE BECOMING A NIGHTMARE TO MAKES EVEN MINOR CHANGES because using an old XP has its own issues. Such as browsers crashing & thus not able surf for codes, software, & firmaware that maybe needed for a project being worked on + a higher increase for virus on the XP since its no longer support & thus not secure.
Thank You so much Microsoft!!!!!!!!!!
